Tewksbury and Lowell went deepest into the playoffs in 2019, but can they repeat that dominance? MVC/Dual League Boys Ice Hockey 2019-20 Season Primer

Tewksbury and Lowell went deepest into the playoffs in 2019, but can they repeat that dominance?

The 2019-20 boys ice hockey season begins tonight, as two MVC teams, Methuen and Central Catholic, take to the ice.

As the MVC/Dual League realigns again slightly, teams will be facing new competition and all programs will be trying to replicate the success of the Tewksbury and Lowell programs.

The Redmen finished 16-5-3 and took the D2 North title before falling in the state final. Lowell went in to the D3 North tourney as the No. 2 seed and lived up to expectations, taking the D3 North title before falling in the state final as well.

Dracut/Tyngsboro also made a legitimate run (12-8-3, lost in D3 North semis), as did Billerica (12-7-4, took out No. 2 Melrose before losing in D1 North semis).
