Shih named Goalkeeper of the Year, while Matson and Foley take home Coach honors.

After Andover concluded their stellar run through the MIAA playoffs, the Merrimack Valley Conference named the official 2019 girls soccer post-season awards on Monday.

Olivia Gotobed of North Andover High School was named the MVC Division 1 Athlete of the Year. The star of the Scarlett Knights, who signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Saint Anselm College this fall, was among the state leaders with 12 goals and six assists this fall to lead NAHS to a 10-win regular season.

Valisiki Flaouna of Billerica Memorial High School was named the Division 2 Athlete of the Year. The Indians had a stellar fall en route to a 12-4-2 regular season, a No. 5 seed in the Division 2 North playoffs and a 1-0 opening round win over Tewksbury.

Meghan Matson of Andover High School took home Division 1 Coach of the Year honors. Matson led the team to a 12-3-3 regular season, an MVC Division 1 title and two wins in the Division 1 North playoffs before falling in the sectional final.

Thomas Foley took home Division 2 Coach of the Year honors, while Andover’s Iasbella Shih took home Goaltender of the Year honors. Shih had 10 shutouts this fall.
